She is the founder and has served as the program director of the Cook County Health and Hospital System Emergency Medicine Simulation Fellowship since 2014. Dr. Sergel received her medical degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson. She completed categorical internal medicine and emergency medicine residencies at Northwestern Medical Center.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Dr. Sergel conceptualized and formed the Cook County Hospital Simulation Center and was essential in the overhaul and expansion of the Rush Center for Clinical Skills and Simulation. Her devotion over the last 20 years has been spent cultivating simulation curricula for the various medical disciplines and creating sustainable business plans for the further development of the two centers. Her educational emphasis is to improve organizational preparedness and inter-professional communication during high-stakes events. Her motivation revolves around the use of simulation to improve patient safety within her institutions and regionally.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Special Lecture<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>\u201cThe Science of Expertise in Simulation Education\u201d<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>\u00a0 William C.
